Hey Reavers of Midgard backers,

After a nice night of Monster Slaughter, Key Forge and other games here at the office, we're back here and back to the work of making games. Some updates for you.

Pledge Manager FAQ

A couple of small things that have come up in questions and messages so far that are worth addressing here.

When will the pledge manager be open?

We are able to send it out approximately two weeks after the campaign ends. We'll be announcing that through an update.

How do I upgrade or change my pledge?

You will do that in BackerKit by clicking on the Switch Pledge Levels button in the Manage My Pledge section.

I need to change my address, how do I do that?

You're able to make address changes in BackerKit, even after filling out the survey, until the pledge manager closes.

I want to add on games. How do I do that?

You're able to choose add-on games in the pledge manager.

When does the pledge manager close?

We anticipate it closing sometime in 2019, likely no earlier than February. That's when additional charges owed for either switching pledge levels or additional games added will be charged. We will let you know in advance when cards are being charged.

Are add-ons available in different languages or for different language editions?

Because our partner companies are responsible for fulfillment in their regions, add-ons other than the playmat are not available for international editions of the game (versions in French, Portuguese and Spanish)

If there are any other questions that come up, you can always message us. That's the better way to ensure we'll see it.

$1 Pledge Survey

We are happy for every single backer we get on our campaigns. You are either showing interest, appreciation or passion for our games and we love that!

But we did notice an unusual trend with this campaign that we haven't seen before. Here's a list of recent campaigns and the percentage of Donation level backers they each had.

Champions of MIdgard Expansions - 2% of backers (143 total)

Deception: Undercover Allies - 2.2% of backers (100 total)

City of Gears - 6.5% of backers (203 total)

Run Fight or Die: Reloaded - 7.3% of backers (133 total)

Reavers of Midgard - 15.6% of backers (921 total)

As you can see, the number has been steadily ticking up before really spiking for this campaign. There are potential reasons and theories we have for this. 

On a broader level, there are a lot more high quality projects on Kickstarter these days, so competition is fierce. On a more specific level, the timing of this campaign so close to the holiday season makes justifying spending for a pledge for a game that won't be in your hands until next year when there are pressing gifting needs a difficult prospect.

We understand that many $1 backers do this because they'd love to pledge for the game but just don't have the funds and intend to do so later. There are also some who aren't 100% sold on the game just yet, but want to keep their options open. 

But the frustration we hear from full pledgers is that these contributions don't help unlock stretch goals, meaning the $1 backers get the entire benefit of the funds provided by people willing to go all-in and support the game while they don't have to spend much.

We're considering a number of options for how to address this on future campaigns. For now though, we want to hear from you. We've created a brief survey here for you to weigh in on this  if you'd so like.

For those who backed at this level for the campaign, rest assured we aren't making any changes for how we're handling Reavers of Midgard. The pledge manager is open to $1 level backers.

There's currently a most anticipated games in 2019 geeklist up right now accepting nominations. We'd be honored if you gave Reavers of Midgard a thumbs up if you're as excited for it as we are!

Now the Real Journey Begins....

Hey Reavers of Midgard backers,

Wow wow wow! We're a bit out of breath here. That was a dizzying final day and we're so grateful for all of you who joined in down the stretch.

First of all, thank you so very much! This has been a tremendous journey and we couldn't have done it without you.

Reavers of Midgard was created for all of the fans who've loved Champions of Midgard and its expansions. It's the result of years of hard work, ideas, passion and love. We're honored you wanted to play a part in bringing the game to life and continue to build the Midgard universe.

As the title of this update suggests, this is really just the start. From here we're going to be continuing to polish Reavers of Midgard to make it the best possible game it can be. Art and graphics still need to be tweaked and there's still some minor tweaks at the gameplay level to complete, not to mention rulebook editing and production layouts. We'll be keeping you in the loop as we move forward with those steps, getting input as needed.

The next step comes in about two weeks when we release the pledge manager on BackerKit. As we'll explain, it's going to be very important to have that filled out as soon as possible so we can get production numbers locked in and know exactly where to ship your pledge.

But that's the technical stuff.... Today and tonight is for celebrating! Here's to you Reavers of Midgard backers! Thanks for allowing us to do what we do, making games we love and you love for many many game nights to come.

$450K Stretch Goal UNLOCKED - Game Night Tonight

Hey there Reavers of Midgard backers!

Well, it took a little switching and a lot of new faces joining our journey at the last moment, but you did it!

$450K Stretch Goal UNLOCKED

This was far and away the most demanded stretch goal on this campaign and with time running out, it is now unlocked. We will be adding upgraded player boards with recessed spaces for the crew dice to all Kickstarter editions of Reavers of Midgard.

We hope this satisfies a lot of the concerns players had with getting a truly deluxe edition of this game. On the component front, there's no doubt that this is a significant upgrade from what will be available at retail.

Game Night Tonight

If you happen to be in St. Louis and are looking to get in a game or three tonight, we'll be hosting our weekly game night here at our headquarters, 2079 Congressional Drive at 6 PM Central.

We have prepared to properly celebrate the end of a successful journey and are excited to celebrate with friends and backers alike. Even if you can't make it tonight, we open our doors every Tuesday at 6 PM and we'd love to see you!

~4 Hours to Go - $430K Stretch Goal UNLOCKED -Stretch Goal Switch

We've got four and a half hours left in the campaign and if you thought things were moving before, just sit back and watch these final few hours.

$430K UNLOCKED

We have now unlocked a box upgrade for Reavers of Midgard that will come exclusively on the Kickstarter editions of the game. This will really make Reavers stand out on your shelf when it gets there next year!

Next up is a set of Grey Fox-exclusive Sea Battle cards at $450K.

Stretch Goal Switch

Well, we heard you on the upgraded player boards and based on feedback and talking it over internally, we've made a switch to the stretch goals in these waning hours.

For those who said this was keeping you from backing the game, with us this close we're hoping this change will prove satisfying.

Late Night Update - $400K Stretch Goal Unlocked - New Stretch Goal

Hey there Reavers of Midgard backers,

The quick pace has continued down the stretch and, with ~17 hours left, we've just cracked a big milestone.

$400K Stretch Goal Unlocked

We're above the $400K mark, meaning we've unlocked more content for this game... This time it's a pair of new prophecy cards to add to the game. This adds even more content, meaning more replayability for Reavers of Midgard for years to come. Nice work!

Next up is a box upgrade at $435K to make the Ultimate Conqueror boxes really stand out from the retail copies.

New Stretch Goal

If we hit $450K on this campaign, we'll unlock yet another set of Sea Battle cards for the game. The art we're requesting from Yaroslav for these cards will be a ghostly woman with glowing eyes and wild hair floating above the sea line. Given what he's done on other cards, we expect these to be epic as well.
