$300K GameTrayz UNLOCKED - New Stretch Goals

Hey there Reavers of Midgard backers,

Alex here from BGG.con after a long day and night of demoing Reavers of Midgard (and a little bit of City of Gears).

A number of backers and new backers swung by the booth to give it a try! It seemed to be well-received.

$300K - GameTrayz Unlocked

This is certainly not breaking news for many of you who were watching the campaign all day, but we finally did it!! GameTrayz storage trays will now be included in all Kickstarter editions of the game. This should be a very nice upgrade to keep all of these bits where they need to be.

Additional Stretch Goals

To fill in the gaps and assuage backer concerns, we've added two new stretch goals for the campaign.

If we get to $350K.... we'll be upgrading the score disks to hammers. This is a feature that went over well in Champions of Midgard and we anticipate it will be a nice addition in Reavers of Midgard as well.

And yes, we've seen a couple of early comments. As with everything on the campaign.... art and graphics not final.

If we can hit $375K, we'll be creating a new Grey Fox exclusive village artifact card and adding it to the game.

These aren't the only ones we're adding, but it gives you a better sense of what's going on.

A late night update for you from BGG.Con.

GameTrayz Render

As I'm writing this update we are very very close to hitting the $300K mark on the campaign. We just received our first look at what these are likely to look like in the final game.

Thank you for your help in very nearly unlocking this tray. We think it will add a ton of value to the Kickstarter edition pledges.

Stretch Goal Gap 

There have been few comments on the gap between the $330K stretch goal and $500K stretch goal. It makes sense to best address this here.

The $500K stretch goal for upgraded player boards, with recessed areas to hold the crew dice. We discussed the idea extensively with the game's likely manufacturer and determined that this would not be an inexpensive feature to add to the game. That meant it needed to be a higher dollar stretch goal. 

Because of the excitement for this goal, we wanted to make sure you knew we were able to offer it and what stretch goal level we were able to offer it at as soon as we possible could. That meant announcing it prior to having other stretch goals to fill that gap lined up in the hopes that this longer term stretch goal for something backers had asked for would prove energizing.

At least based on some of the reaction we have received, this backfired in some way and has caused both confusion and some amount of anguish. We are currently working on adding more stretch goals to cover the gap. At least one of them, a significant box upgrade for Kickstarter editions, is one we're still waiting on manufacturing information on before proceeding.

To another point we've seen in here regarding current excitement level.... buzz if you will down the stretch, I want to point you to a couple of past campaigns....

That is the Kicktraq daily pledge chart for City of Gears. As you can see, that campaign had its slowest day 6 days before the campaign ended before things slowly ramped up into a big finish.

This one above is for Run Fight or Die: Reloaded. Notice a somewhat similar pattern?

We're confident in a big finish for this campaign and we're excited to have you along for the ride. If you have any concerns, you're more than welcome to post them in the comments or, one of your fellow backers has posted a nice thread on BGG that we're subscribed to.

Blessing of Meili

On a more positive side, check out the card art for the Grey Fox exclusive sea journey card that you unlocked from spreading the word about this campaign. We love the work Yaroslav Radeckyi does and this card is no exception.

BGG.Con Live Stream Recap

We ran a full two player game of Reavers of Midgard from our booth here at BGG.Con, myself going toe to toe with Josh.

I was very cocky about coming out on top but paid dearly for it. Josh used a heavy Raid Keeps strategy to beat me and my combat-heavy play 199 - 134.

Unfortunately, it appears Kickstarter has had significant problems with its live stream system. We reached out to Kickstarter Support after the stream refused to go away afterward. We were told they're working on it, but it appears very possible the replay with this one will be lost as well.

For those at BGG.Con who are backers, please swing by the booth so you can give other backers a full report. We're excited to show it to you!

Communication during BGG.Con will be a little slower on the page and on messages themselves, so please bear with us a bit during this time.

Hola amigos, nos complace anunciaros que tras llegar a un acuerdo con Grey Fox Games, Arrakis Games editará Reavers of Midgard en español.

Ya está disponible un pledge para la versión del juego en español, que incluye el juego totalmente traducido junto con todos los extras que se desbloqueen durante la campaña. Arrakis Games se encargará de la gestión y envío desde España de todos los juegos de los backers españoles. Para ello solamente tenéis que elegir el pledge en español.

Si entrasteis en la campaña antes de que dicho pledge estuviera disponible, os recomendamos que os cambies al nuevo pledge, de esta forma recibiréis el juego totalmente traducido enviado desde España por Arrakis Games.

Closing in on GameTrayz - New Player Board Stretch Goal - Live Stream

Hey there Reavers of Midgard backers,

A few things to update you on this fine Tuesday.

GameTrayz Stretch Goal

 We are oh so very close to unlocking some amazing GameTrayz storage trays for Kickstarter editions of Reavers of Midgard. We know this is a big stretch goal... so once that's done, we wanted to give you something to really be excited about.

$500K Stretch Goal

Far and away the most requested stretch goal for this campaign from backers has been a recessed player board so the dice fit neatly into place. We listened and looked into it and are now able to offer it here as a stretch goal. Since the graphic is a little small, here's a closer look.

To be clear.... there will be other stretch goals between now and this one. We just wanted to inform you about something exciting far on the horizon as soon as we were able to share it.

It's a ways off, but it's definitely doable especially as we hit the home stretch. Helping spread the word about the game will help us get closer to making this a reality.

Live Stream

As mentioned in recent updates, we'll have the game out here at BGG.Con for demo this weekend. We got a jump start on booth setup so that tomorrow during vendor setup day, we can host a live stream of gameplay of Reavers of Midgard. Join us at 2 PM CST and come ready with questions for us to answer.

Playthrough Video

A few comments during this campaign have been from folks who are on the fence, awaiting a playthrough video of the game. The fine folks over at the Board Game Spotlight happened to do a live play over the weekend.

New Stretch Goal

We're closing in on the GameTrayz stretch goal and I know some of you are wondering what's next. Here's a small peek....

When Loki's Deception hits, you'll be forced to make a tough choice.... either discard one favor or reroll all of your crew dice. Loki is a tricky one!

We also have an exciting add-on tied to something a lot of you have been asking about that we'll be able to tell you about shortly.
