Hey there Reavers of Midgard backers!
A couple of quick production updates for you fine folks as we near the end of June.
Reavers of Midgard Dice
The printer has sent us images of some of the manufactured dice. These are looking quite sharp indeed and we're pleased with how they turned out. as we get more sneak peeks at production, we'll be sharing them here!
Dice Tower Con
We will be at Dice Tower Con in Orlando next week at Booth #504. We've asked the printer about the possibility of having a digital proof at the show.... basically the full game with some minor differences to a retail edition. It's a long shot, but there's an outside chance we'll have a copy to show off at our booth. Either way, please come by and say hi if you're there. We love chatting with backers in person!
Card Counts/Sizes
Some folks have been asking us about card counts and sizes for the game. Here's a breakdown:
120 Standard CCG cards
203 Mini European cards

That's all for now!

Manufacturing Timeline Update - A Look at Components
over 5 years ago

Hey there Reavers of Midgard backers!
Alex from Grey Fox Games here, freshly back from a trip across the pond for UK Games Expo.
We met many of you fine folks at the show, many of whom expressed an awful lot of excitement for this game. A couple of manufacturing updates for you to hopefully help increase the anticipation.
Manufacturing Timeline
The printer has informed us they anticipate the print run for Reavers of Midgard being complete by July 15th.
That's an estimate at this stage, but usually they end up within a week or so of that date in our experience.
From that point, games will need to be shipped from China to fulfillment centers around the globe. That puts us fulfilling Reavers of Midgard to most backers in late August to September.
It'll be a close call if we can get a copy of the game in time to show it off at Dice Tower Con in July.
Gen Con
We anticipate having some demo copies available for Gen Con and for reviewers, but it's unclear if we'll have any copies to sell.
If we do receive those in time, are you as backers comfortable with us selling retail editions (not Kickstarter editions) at that show? We've provided a poll here for backers to weigh in, although you can also answer in the comments if you'd like.
Component Sneak Peek
We've also received a look at some of the wooden components for the game in the form of physical proofs.
Here are the ships and score markers, including the Honor Ship as well as food and glory custom markers.
These are the custom markers for, in order, the round marker, farm tokens, terror tokens, wall tokens and tower tokens. While all of the shapes are correct size and shape-wise and are of a nice quality, there is an issue with the wrong color wood being used for some of them. That's an issue that's being corrected.

That's it for now! Thanks for your support as always. We know the wait has been long, longer than we anticipated during the Kickstarter, but things seem to be moving along well and we're very excited to share the final product with you soon!
Thanks,

To the Printer!

Hey there Reavers of Midgard backers,
A quick update that many of you already spotted in the most recent Grey Fox Games newsletter.
Production
Reavers of Midgard has indeed gone to the printer and production is officially underway!
First, some images.
While the printer is getting everything prepped, we're still working on making final edits to the rulebook itself. Here's the latest draft rulebook for folks looking to get a jumpstart on learning the game. It is not quite final just yet.
Timeline
It is certainly difficult to perfectly estimate when these games will be in the hands of individual backers as there are still many more steps to go, all of which come with the potential for delays. In general, production time will typically take six weeks or so, but the level of difficulty of manufacturing can cause that to be a bit shorter or longer. The multiple different language editions make this process even more complicated than typical.
After that, the games have to be divided and shipped to their individual fulfillment centers. It usually takes a couple of weeks to get them booked and on the water, plus another four to five weeks for them to reach their destinations. Then the games have to be packed and shipped to individual backers.
The point being, it's too far out to say exactly when we're looking at delivering Kickstarter pledges. It's safe to say that it will not be here in time for the estimated June delivery date. A better guess would be August or September.
We know there are a lot of you eagerly anticipating the game you helped bring to life and that hearing that date is a bummer to say the least and for that we are very sorry indeed. We would have liked to hit that target as well, but it's also more important to us to ensure that we get the game done right rather than getting it done fast, especially given the high expectations for it.
Thanks for your support and your patience! We'll be providing you more updates including pictures of production as they're available.

Graphics, Graphics, Graphics - GameTrayz Preview

Hey there Reavers of Midgard backers,
It's been a couple of weeks, so we wanted to keep you in the loop on the progress being made.
We're far closer than we were a bit ago, but we're still making tweaks to the iconography. Right now that's primarily being done in-house to cut down on iteration time. It's consisting of printing, evaluating, tweaking and then repeating.
Sometimes it's fun to step back a bit and see the progress on board look. Here's a before and after photo. The first one is the board from during the campaign when we were demoing this at BGG.con . The after is the current (not 100% final) look.
This process has taken longer than expected but it's in service of ensuring this game is as great as it can be.... that the appearance is as well-crafted as the gameplay itself.
Luckily, none of this graphical work is slowing the translation work already underway. Our publishing partners are working on localizing game text. The final wording of the rulebook will likely be the last piece of the puzzle... something we'll share here when it's finalized.
Another piece of work that's been ongoing outside of Grey Fox is from our friends at GameTrayz. Check out the latest render of the storage solution backers will be receiving.
We're really really pleased with how this is turning out! It should be a tremendous addition and reward for all of you, our amazing backers!
That's all for now. We'll check back in in a couple of weeks with the latest (or sooner if there's something huge).
Thanks and all the best,
Alex - Grey Fox Games
Happy April! - Design Diary - Graphic Design Progress

Hey Reavers of Midgard backers,
A couple of progress updates for you fine backers of Reavers of Midgard! None of them April Fools' related!
Design Diary
Reavers of Midgard's designer J.B. Howell posted a design diary to BoardGameGeek today. It's a great way to get insight into the game's origins, including how it started off as a post-apocalyptic survival game and morphed into the sequel to the beloved Champions of Midgard. It's a fun behind-the-scenes look at the process of making games and we hope you enjoy it!
Graphic Design Progress
We released some new looks at the game's graphic design in progress in our newsletter as that's the major thing keeping the game from going to print right now and wanted to share those with you here as well. Many of these include from Yaroslav Radeckyi that we haven't shared before.
As mentioned, this is still going through graphic design revisions to get things exactly right, so setting an exact timeline on shipping is hard to do at this stage. Based on typical manufacturing timelines, it would seem July is more likely for fulfillment than June, but we'll keep you updated as manufacturing begins.
